HI I'M LAWRENCE - A CHILDREN'S AUTHOR AND FREELANCE DRAMA TEACHER...

I started writing my first book Rolo when I was still working as a Drama Teacher - it was by far the best thing I've ever done!

My inspiration comes from things I've experienced or experience on a daily basis. I'm also really lucky as I spend a lot of time completing Author visits in both Primary and Secondary schools across the UK, which means that I'm around my target audience for my books.

I love to watch football and my favourite team is Newcastle United.

My favourite place to write is in the peace and quiet of my home in Oxfordshire. Some of my best ideas have come to me though when I've been out and about, so it's always handy for me to have a notepad and pen with me wherever I go!

This is definitely my dream job and I'm incredibly grateful to be able to be a Children's Author for a living.

The reason I love what I do is that I get to inspire children with my stories. It's so important that children learn to read and appreciate books from an early age and if I can help them do that, then I am a very happy writer.
